Some of the saints celebrating feast days today are Saint Hilary (to be invoked against snakes), Saint Felix Nola (to be invoked against perjury), Saint Macrina the Elder, Saint Barbasymas and Companions, Saint Datius, Saint Kentigern or Saint Mungo, and Saint Sava.
Marjoe Gortner is celebrating his birthday today. Marjoe, named for Mary and Joseph by his Evangelical minister parents, was the youngest ordained minister in the United States, achieving the title at the tender age of 4 when he could competently preach a sermon and quote scripture. He and his angelic yellow curls went on to pack revival tents throughout the South until he was 17, when he left his profession with a vengeance, devoting quite some time to debunking the charismatic Evangelical church into which he had been born.
There is some uncertainty regarding his birth year (1945 or 1942) which has me wondering if the amazing genius attributed (even by Marjoe himself) to the infant preacher could be explained somewhat by his being three full years older than was admitted. Not that it is much less amazing to be an ordained preacher at 7 than at 4.
Here's a recent letter I received regarding Marjoe:
I'm glad he is doing well--he was/is an interesting character.

UPDATE: The documentary "Marjoe" has finally been released on DVD. Click the link to see it on Amazon. The old video was going for outrageous prices on eBay prior to this DVD release.
Besides Marjoe, Faye Dunaway (1941, Bascom, FL) and Nina Totenberg (1944, NYC) are also celebrating birthdays today.
