"I do not need two camels"
Part II

Most of the information in this part of my camel story is from this site.

Glossary

Cow:  Female camel

Calf:  Baby camel

Bull:  Intact Male Camel

Bullock:  Castrated Male Camel

Koosh (or Cush):  The command to a camel for the camel to lie down to be mounted or loaded.

Bactrian Camel:

Dromedary:

Dulah:  The closest I can figure is that it is a balloon-type organ that the male camels have as part of their soft palate. While it is usually just there and unobtrusive, during the rut the males can inflate this organ and hang it out the side of their mouths sort of like a big red tongue. Click on the small picture for a large black and white photo.
